Earlier today I was with Dippy and if i listened carefully i could almost hear his teeth together like they were chattering but it wasnt cold and i have never heard of bunnies shivering!

Is this normal was he just grinding his teeth together?

If it is like a soft chattering, that is a happy sound :) Means they are content and pleased. If it is a lound slashing noise, combined with uncomfortable posture that indicates pain.

In this case it just sounds like your rabbit is very content.

Do rabbits grind their teeth for any other reason such as annoyance or fear? I could hear my bun grinding her teeth earlier. She seemed quite relaxed even with me stroking her. Ebony is still a new little bun who might well need more time to get to know, then trust me so I've also wondered about teeth grinding today.

I think she was happy with you stroking her, and not annoyed! One of my buns tooth purrs like crazy when he is relaxed and I stroke him.

I have another bun that has gnashed his teeth before when I had to restrain him to give him meds. He was annoyed and it was a different sound from the happy chittering teeth when he is pleased.
