Swollen/purple....

So, I bred my mini rex doe a week ago. Of course, before I breed any rabbits, I do a check over to make sure all is well. I also do regular "check ups" during the week. Well, today, when I checked her, I noticed that her vulva was VERY purple and swollen. I don't recall seeing this last time.. but maybe I didn't check at this particular time in pregnancy. Or maybe she didn't catch? Any ideas?

if you were going to breed her now she'd be past prime.

it's a bit too early to tell if she's bred or not at this point.

They do change colour frequently with their vent.

OKay thanks. I know how when the vent turns a dark purple and seems swollen that it means that she is ready to be bred, I just never did see it THIS purple and swollen before. They are kept right by my bucks so maybe that's why too.

actually really dark purple and swollen means she just past time to breed. you want darkish red but not purple for prime breeding.
