I have a year old Orange standard Rex doe that Ihave tried unsucessfully to mate four times with my orange buck. I bredJemima but frankly I started to really believe she just didn't fancyJimmy at all. Every timeI put her in with him, although hewas so very keen, she was just not having any of it!!!

I put her in with him one late evening and shock horror forgot i had and found her in there in the morning.

Still I didn't think she had caught but tonight when feeding them Ijust checked her bed in case she needed more hay and babies were awriggling!!!!! They were not there last night so must have been born inthe night. I can only see two but have obviously not disturbed them toomuch.

Really chuffed

Yes they are both purebred and the dadhaswon a few things although that was with his breeder justbefore I got him. I don't show but am careful about my breeding toensure good showing stock. His breeder is an old guy who has bred Rexesfor years and he helps me a lot with selections and mating pairs etc.

Same thing happened to me with my lop. I havehad her for 2 years and tried and tried more than I remember to breedher no luck well I know have 4 new lops by her  I seen herpulling hair and thought to my self hummm shes never do that so I veryquickly put in a nest box and not 10 minutes later 4 little wigglebabies. The breeder that I got her from told us that Blossom had had alitter berfore I got her, I was begining to think that I was lied tobecouse I couldn't get her to take up.

I have a year old Orange standard Rex doe ************

From what I have been told andI may be wrong but the largerbreeds such as Standard Rexdont fully mature till nearly a year old, this could be whyyou were unsucessful with breeding herbefore , maybe she was too young, now that she is older whala !babies , congradulations on new wigglies, send along somepictuers please !!!! I cant wait tosee Rex babies!!!.

Have just been to check them. Haven't reallydisturbed the nest as mummy is quite a nervous bun. I needed to checkfor any fatalities. One baby had died and he looks like she has had ago at him as one of his paws is bloody and also his ear flap. Thereappears to be one big healthy one left so I will have to leave it alonejust in case she is one of the overprotective ones.

Will post a pic when i can

I'm soo sorry about the little one also :( Letsjust hope that the other one is okay also. Keep us posted about thekits. Pictures anytime soon please?
