surface piercings

okay, so i really, REALLY want another tattoo, but am completely torn about what to get and were. . . plus the guy i want to do it is uber expensive. . . so i am holding out. ..

i also really want my tongue pierced, but my father would completely disown me forever, and plus, i am about to lose my dental insurance. . . and i know that you have to keep up with dental stuff when you have one (risk of chipping teeth, ect)

so my third thing i want i think i am going to get! it is called a surface piercing. . .

my only problem is after talking to the person that would do it (she is a pro, and has done many of them) i have learned that normally 85% of all surface piercings are rejected by the body within 6 months. . .

i work with a girl that has one, and it is really cool, i like the look of it alot (she just has one 'bar' and it is on the back of her neck. . .

what do ya'll think? should i just go for it????

ok i looked at the pic , and eewwwww, lol, i have had a piercing other than my ears, but i dont get the surface piercing, but taht is just me. i have tattoos and want a few more before i retire from getting anymore,lol. i also had my eyebrow pierced, and would have loved to get my tongue and my lip done, so i am not opposed to body piercing but there are things that i just dont get and that is one of them?????? ha ha i sound crazy,lol.

i have heard the samething about your body rejecting something like that, heck your body will push out an eyebrow , and belly button ring to, it is a foreign body in you that it wants to get out. I dont know how much it will run you but is it something that you dont m ind paying for just to have it out in 6 months? Good luck, and even if i dont "get it" i still want to see pics :shock:

i thought they were gross in photo untill i saw one in person. . . then i loved it!!!

they are only around $50. . . which compared to the $300+ dollar tattoo i really really want. . .is NOTHING!

Interesting, how do they work? Are they like pins stuck in you or what? I like piercings, but I don't know if I'd get something like that.

I haven't had dental insurance for 3 years, had my tongue piercing for...6 lol. I don't know what you mean by "keep up with". Once your teeth is chipped, it's chipped regardless of insurance or not.

Go for it!!!!!! But as a piercing/tattoo addict, I would always encourage them lol. You only live once ma'am and if it rejects it, oh well, money lost but you'll never know till you try.

I can imagine them looking nice though once the swelling and redness went down, I'm interested in how they are done actually. I do have other body piercings but I'm not sure if I would get a surface one done, they are really pretty though.

Lol I have never saw anything like that before.....

I could never have anything more than my belly-button pierced, and I can't even have that because my skin is so sensitive, ifI got one of those surface things I'd infect so much. :?

But if that's your thing you should go with it! Can they come out?

Those suspension things look awful though!

I really like it! I am a huge fan of piercings. I am thinking about getting another piercing in my tounge. I wish I could get a vertical libret, but I might have to take out my snakebites anyway when I get a better job, unfortunately.


My friend got her clavicals pierced. Which looks like this:

It looked really awesome and I contemplated getting mine done, until her body REALLY rejected them and now she has these nasty scars on her chest. She said it was extremely painful when they got infected and she regrets doing it.


Do you have someone that could clean your back after you get the piercings, if you do?

I watched a taboo with some of those in it. This girl got spikes sticking out of her chest. It is REALLY painful and bloody, it wasn't very pretty.

I wouldn't get one, but if you want to all the more power to ya. Just remember if it goes wrong and is rejected you could end up with more serious problems.

Yeppp me too on both. Go for it, my teeth never got bothered from my tongue ring and I stretched mine so I could stick a drinking straw through it. It was huge and I never had any problems. Plus I never let me parents see it.

If it rejects oh well, they told me my bottom belly button would reject and I've had that in for uhm, 5 years.......
