Weekends always seem to go too fast!

It's sunny, cool, and crisp this morning...had to kick on the heat to take the chill off.

Nothing really planned for today.

Happy Sunday. I'm still a bit sleepy.

Last night we went down the road to a friend's house for a bonfire and pigroast. It was beautiful outside and the company was great! Food was so good I think everyone was in pain by the end of the evening!

Fall is such a great time to enjoy being outside and visit with friends before the weather hampers anything like that. (at least in Indiana)...

Lovely day day today. Stayed up til 2:00 Am watching the Tribe beat Boston (yea!).

We just picked up a truck load of hay for HRS foster bunniesto deliver next week. Gotta' go enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

I decided to clip bunnie nails today.

We're a bit over due, but I wanted to wait until it was cool and the buns had ceased shedding.

Score stands....Buns:0....Jim:5....with 3 innings to go.

Brindle was first....cuz she's a mush bunnie....and has white nails. You could stand her on her head and she wouldn't mind.

And I just finished Binkie....aka: Chainsaw. She turns into a raging ball of fur with a gazillion arms....THAT ARE POINTY AT THE ENDS !!!! At least she didn't bite me this time.

I just have S'more (who stresses out over EVERYTHING), Rosie (who still doesn't trust anyone too much), and Tootsie.

I have the problem when it comes to handling Tootsie. She's so big and strong, but so gentle too. I think she senses that I'm not as confident as I could be.
The morning that I found her after she escaped into my workshop during the night, I simply scooped her up and she just laid there and squeaked softly. I was so relieved to find her that I didn't even think about it when I picked her up. I think she was pretty relieved that I found her, too!! We kind of looked at each other like, "Now what?!?!"

I found some bunnie brownies in the freezer, so everybun is getting a special treat after clipping!!

I think I'll have some lunch..."Thunderheart" is on...good flick!!
And then it's back to the buns!

All done!!!! 144 nails clipped!!!

It went well.

S'more squirmed around a lot and managed to scratch me up a bit.

Rosie tolerated it, but now hates me for the moment.

Tootsie was fine once I got her securely cradled in my arms and was sitting down.

Everybunnie got brownies and hay cubes.

And I even gave the room a quick vac!!!

A very productive day, if I may say so ***pats self on back***

Now that's a lotta nails!!!!

Today was dark and overcast, and #!$#@! cold!! Despite the weather, however, I did actually 'do stuff' today. Here's what was on my agenda:

Took The Dog took for a walk along the river, then hustled home (quick stop first at Tim Horton's for a cup of forbidden coffee, and a coupla Timbits for The Dog ;)).

Sat down and enjoyed forbidden coffee and some rice crackers.

Time out to tell Yofi not to steal rice crackers.

Next: some cleaning. Dishes...washed. Cat's litter box...emptied, scrubbed and refilled. Porch where cat's litter box sits...scrubbed and wiped down.

Time out to tell Yofi not to steal apples from the rack in the kitchen. Also time out to explain to Yofi that one does not take two bites of an apple and then go for another one.

Cat (one of 'em, she's stinky)...washed, scrubbed and blowdried.

Time out to tell Yofi to get out of the bathroom. Also time out to grab Yofi just as he attempts a double-gainer dive head-first into the tub.

Bathtub and walls....scrubbed and dried. Shower curtain liner...scrubbed and hung to dry. Window frame in bathroom...scrubbed (as much as possible) to remove mold (iccckkk).

Time out to explain to Yofi that (a) The Dog's stuffed toy is NOT for practicing 'bein' a man'; and (b) the cat's tail is NOT edible.

Off to grocery store to buy food (and some fun Halloween decorations).

Return from grocery store. Start to unpack groceries.

Time out to tell Yofi that Mom does not need help taking food out of the grocery bags.

Finally...sit down at computer with one buttercup squash resting in front of monitor. Look up recipes for easiest way to cook said squash. Wind up in RO forum instead.

Now...off to cook some dinner. And to give Yofi another lecture on whatever it is he is currently doing behind my back...

Jim, Do you have a blog? I might have missed it. I need to see your bunnies cause I don't know who Tootsie is!

I know Brindle and I definitely know who Binkie is! LOL! Where's your daughter for the nail trimmings? I love CHAINSAW..... kinda like JIGSAW of the Saw Movie series LOL!

I found that as soon as I posted to you!

She's so cute! she's who you have in the avatar isn't she?

I love that she gets under her blankie as big as she is! My little Tony should be close to her weight when he's grown!

The bunnies all look good!

so lets see each bun has 18 nails, X my buns = to486 nails i cut the other day...

dang i think i wish i never added that up... never mind all the nails we do at work...

Oh poor Bebe.... I cut her quick and she bled so much blood. She didn't even flinch when I cut it. It just started pouring blood, and lots of baking soda later, it slowly stopped. She is fine now, and she didn't even complain. I gave her a carrot, but she was busy licking her paw.

POOR BEBE! Stan you meanie!! ;)

Great, I need to trim nails. I'm trying to get Tony's to back up a bit in the quick. He's got long nails but they are too long right now.

Nope...that would be Benji in my avatar :biggrin2:He's about half the size of Toots.

Tootsie kind of hangs over my shoulder with her hind feet dangling around my waist.:p
I don't think she knows she's so big. She's very affectionate and follows me around when she's out. She's so soft and scrunchy....like a Gund stuffed toy.

Aww I thought maybe that was her as a baby!

I was just brushing and looking at Tony's toenails. His quicks are just so close to the end but his nails are long it seems.

She was already 10 months old when we got her.....a big baby girl at about 9 lbs :D

Her nails are pretty long...and thick....and black.....and the quick runs farther down than the other buns.
I don't think her nails had been clipped for quite a while (if ever) before we got her.
I have to be so careful when I clip them.
I check them first by holding her feet/nailsin front ofa high intensity light to get a good idea where the quick is.

Yeah, I TRY to hold their feet to a light so I can check..... but that's not always working for me. :?the brats!

I use brats in the most loving manner tho...... LOL!
