For 2 days I've been watching a german shepherd (not at my home, someone nearby). For yesterday and today, when I brought Ripley in, he just hasn't been himself- He'll come up and sniff me, but then any move I make, makes him take off frantically away from me. Yesterday I just thought it a coincidence, but today he was the exact same way. Do you think the dog's hair/smell on my clotheis causing him to be so afraid? Also, he usually is a constant Humpty Dumpty and now he's so scared of me I haven't had an issue with him trying to get mein 2 days. [Note I don't mine that-rather it's just another sign that he's really scared, beacuse usually nothing deturs him from trying to hump anything that comes near him..] I'm also watching 3 cats for someone, but I've watched them alot of oher times and he never has been scared by smelling them on me.

That could definitely be the cause of the behaviour change. My bunny Acacia was always used to the cats and dog (bc her byb had both) but I noticed from September - November when she was the sole pet (my doggie passed away and we had no cats around) she became a whole different bunny! In early November we got our cat Oliver and Acacia will not come out of the condo on her own.

Give your bunny time and space (and lots of treats!!) and in no time you'll have won him back :)

Ok! Thanks!

I was just getting worried with him constantly running from me. He usually is so consumed the whole time he's out of his cage with running around me in circles and jumping on and off my lap. Now he's just running away.

He took one treat (a piece of cilantro) that I tried to offer him and then was so scared to take the rest of it, that he left it. I'm sure the reindeer hat I put on him yesterday didn't help his trusting me, but he was already skittish then. Probably not a good move on my part, but he was soo cute!

Yes, he smells the dog & doesn't like it. I assume you're only watching a friend's dog for a short while, so things will be back to normal after that.

Very cute picture.

I'm watching her (the dog) for 4 more days. Maybe he'll get used to the smell, hopefully before the times over, or I guess I'll just have to wait...I feel so bad for my poor little bunny. He's *never* run away from me like that.

Just thought I'd give a quick update-today Ripley seems to be doing better with me again..back to his crazy humping antics and everything..but I've also got him back to being his cuddley, adorable, fuzzy friendly self so I'm happy. :) Thanks! (And I'm only watching the dog 2 more days which means he'll be even happier. Yesterday he met my neighbors little shih tzu..maybe he realized dogs aren't so bad.)
