My aylesbury duck (which we aren't eating) got her head stuck between twobricks a while ago. I was out putting Thumper into the veggie patch and Princess inthe enclosure when I heard loud quacking, I looked over and she had her head stuck between two bricks andwas thrashing like crazy, I was terrified she would break her neck so I ran over to steady her, I put my hands on her but she's really strong and flapped up into my face so I held her down between my knees and she stopped, I couldn't pick up the brick without crushing her more so I had to shout for my mam for ages until she finally heard me. She pulled up the brick and freed her, of course she ran off over to my other aylesbury drake as if I had trapped her big head in the bricks, stupid duck :D

Poor girl. Lucky that you were out there to save her! :)

I just love ducks. I used to have some of my own,8 of them, four I raised since they were babies. They were Muscovies :) Four of the others I had were a base white with other colours splashed onto them. Oh i miss my duckies.

Ya I love them too. Muscovies are cool. Mine are aylesbury, their meat ducks but we don't have the heart to eat them lol :pThey are my first and only ducks and I got them when they were ten days old. They're six months now. We used to keep them in a pet carrier in the house and I used to let them swim in the bath until they were old enough to live outside. :)

Oh, they're so cute!

Just to warn you though, if they're meat ducks they might get super heavy and die suddenly of a heart attack, etc. I had a meat chicken that that happened too. I didn't own him when he died, and he was a good 2 years of age, but it was still upsetting to hear from my cousins that he'd passed. I'm not saying you have to eat them, cuz I wouldn't be able to either, but just a heads-up.

Ya , I heard that before so they get a strict diet and free range on an acre so they don't get too fat and they seem to be doing fine.:)
