Does anyone here use straw mats with theirbunnies - you know the cheap kinds you get to just lay out on the beachwith. I have one for Cookie which he digs at but he isstarting to eat little bits of the straw as he's digging.

I'm thinking of taking it away from him - but do any of you know if it's unsafe for them to eat the straw from those mats?

as long as it is not treated with any chemicalsit is just fine .. if youre not sure about that particular mat ... youcan buy untreated grass mats at pier 1 or home depot :)

Mine have a straw mat that was made as a tableplacemat. It was labeled as 100% straw, so no strings, etc. They love it. If yours has strings or dyes oranything extra, I would take it away. If not, let him have it.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I gotit cheap in walmart - who knows if it's treated or not and it hasstrings holding it together, so in the end - no more mat for the boy.

Thanks!!
