I know this sound weird and he looks great but He seem skinny. I can feel his back bone I have always been able to feel his point on his I guess hips.

But I picked him up today and I can feel his back bone.

I can feel Jessi's points to but not her back bone.

I can almost feel his ribs.

His output are normal and his intake is great no change.

I am thinking its his new food he has been on it for a little over a month now.

He gets 1/8 cup Pellets Purina Fibre 3
Unlimited Local grown hay.

No veggies he can't handle them.

No real daily treat either anymore maybe a crasin if we find them in the freezer that day.

He was wormed last month I do a wormer every month sense Phoenix goes in and out of the house so much.

He is acting normal he is a neutered male Nether land Dwarf.

I'd give him more pellets if he's just on hay and pellets, and/or I'd at least give him a good mix of hay -- different types. You don't want him eating less hay, but dwarfs have a high metabolism.

And of course I'd watch closely for any signs of dental issues, etc..

Can he handle grass? (Pulled, no pesticides).

I don't have assess to grass that is clean.
He goes through four handfuls of hay a day.

I have been watching his eating he eats normal if anything faster then normal recently.

I know he is a Netherland Dwarf but seeing as he does not get veggies should he not get a little more pellets? Becca gets veggies everynight but I still give her 1/4th cup pellets. She is loose in my room. Spayed just under 3 lb Lionhead.

Was he doing better on the other food than nowPurina? You say he eats faster now? It sounds like he islacking something if he feels he needs the food faster.

I personally dislike Purina and refuse to support them. I know other people that use Purina rabbit food with good results but I never had good results with it. We had one dog poisened that had to be put down and numerous rabbits die "with out reason" while feeding it. It was the only rabbit food I couldget until TSC moved in two years ago.

The company that makes Purina rabbit food is not the same people as purina dog food.

But yeah he eats faster. I may switch just him back while I still have this bag and see how he does.

My bf has two nethies and he gives them 1/4c pellets a day between the two of them. Benjamin is a bit skinny and Frida's a bit chubby so it depends on the bunny I think. You might want to increase his pellets. I know the Fibre 3 is a pretty good pellet, so that's probably not the issue. Do you think the Omega 3's in it are making a difference for him? I try to give my guys some flax seed while shedding to get some Omega 3's but it's hard because it seems Muffin sheds constantly and I don't want to give it every day.

I did not know that but like I said I fed Purina for YEARS to the rabbitsand hated it. They never did well but it was the only rabbit food around in bulk, that or the small $6 4lb bags from walmart with the puffs and crap in them. I am not the only one who has had bad health when using Purina, a friend as far away as eastern Canada told me of problems. She had the exact same issues with their food as I did, unexplained deaths, boney backs, not willing to breed, miscarrages, ect. Thename Purina simply makes me say no. To much bad experiance from the name.

His shed was a lot lighter for maybe about 2 or 3 week where it is normally two months.

The problem is he was on Zupreem for over a year on 1/8 cup pellets and I never had a problem of him being this skinny.

And he still ate hay the same he does now nothing has changed beside the pellets.

His eating habits are normal she has always been neutered.
Jessi has not been on it long enough t make a difference yet.

Should I go back to Zupreem and cut my losses or up his food. Its so weird to me that he is doing everything the same and is loosing weight.

I would try upping it if you do not want to switch. I believe he gets loads of free time? Did he gets as much before? If he is more active now than before that is why he is thinner. He just needs more calories to keep up with his activity level. If I am mistaken than maybe you should switch. Or mix the two foods?

He has always had the same free time to be honest he gets less with jessi here.

If I remember right - that is the one that Purina reformulated a few months ago - and breeders have said that rabbits are losing condition on it.

I too have had problems with Purina in the past - but I'm using it now.

That Purina isn't really meant for show rabbits, but more for pets, at least from what I can tell. It is pretty new. They sell it in smaller bags so I think they're trying to appeal to the pet market.

I am going to go ahead and put them back on Zupreem.

After talking to peg I am going to cut my losses and throw the Purina out.

I can't see adding to his food when for a year and a half he has gotten 1/8 and been fine then all of the sudden we change foods and he has started loosing weight.

after hereing what a few breeders has said about it I am going back.

I found a cheap hay so luckily I am able to go back without question.

Thanks guys

I was really freaking out storm is my baby I would die if something happen to him from something I did.
