I drove past the wildlife santuary up the roadfrom me, and in their front field thing they had a sign "Standing hay50 cents a bale". I was just wondering what is it? I'll have to go seeif it's anything worth feeding to my rabbits. I just saw the 50 cents abale and was shocked!

So does anyone know what it is? I tried looking it up, but it onlybrought up the prices per acre they sell it for :?. If it's anythinglike timothy ect and good quality I'll have to get a bale!

Sorry, just clueless and seeing if anyone knew :).

Ok, so I googled "standing hay" and found a site that describes it as the following:

[font="Verdana,Arial,Geneva,Helvetica"][size="-1"]"standing"hay (grass left standing in the fields going into winter)

Here's the site, if you want to check it out (it's within the question,"Can they forage their food even in the winter?" or you can use thesearch tool in your internet window):
