Okay, we are finally ready to start stacking and really organizing our bunny barn, but the question I have is ....Is there a way to stack the bunnies that works best. What I mean is....take my netherland dwarfs for example, I have 4 bucks and 6 does. (for now...hahahaha) My stacks when assembled will be four holes high. I will have for stacks designated for ND's (16 holes). Do I put one buck in each stack, or do I put all four bucks in one stack. Not sure if it matters but thought I would ask.:p:?:p

thanks

I don't know. I have both of my bucks in one stack and then the does that they will be breeding with go next to them. The bucks are always very interested in the doe next to them, but only on one side.

I wouldn't want to put the bucks next to each other because they might spray each other and make a big mess. I had this happen with two young bucks that I kept next to each other. Both of them ended up with pee everywhere.

You can put them all in one stack (not beside each other on top of each other in that way they cant spray on each other and put the doe NDs beside them.

We generally keep bucks closer to the bottom so we don't get sprayed in the face. ;)

THIS.

The buck I hate the most sprayed me in the face two nights ago when I had to switch his cage. (The doe needed his, which had a bigger opening (couldn't get the nest box though the other)) I finally get them switched, the nest box in, and WHAAABAM. Pee all over my face and chest. >.>; I threatened to eat him, but figured he wouldn't taste good anyway. Too old. LOL, JK.

My bucks are all kept in the same stacker with solid dividers. They can't see another buck. I wouldn't do buck-doe-buck-doe becauseif the bucks can see each other and decided to spray, the poor doe will be in the line of fire.

I have double 3 tier stackers that have buck-doe on each tier. They cant see other bucks so no fighting and less spraying.
