Napoleon has been neutered for over two monthsnow and continues to spray occasionally, more lately. He alsourinates in one spot every day on the rug by the girls' cage. The vet said he believes Napoleon is around two years old. Isthis normal behavior for an adult, neutered male?

I wish I could help you. Apollo isintact. Thankfully he doesn't spray but he marks the same exact spot,in front of Dale's couch.

Napolean is trying to let everyone know he's the man bunny of the house. Good Luck.

Oh, believe me, we KNOW he's alphabunny. We can smell him a mile away. He is thestinkiest bunny I've ever known. He chins everything andleaves his stinky cocoa puffs all over the place.

It's a good thing he's so sweet and cute. I can not get madat him. One look at that sweet face and I melt.

I'd say Napoleon is "pushing the envelope" for continued sexual behaviors after neutering. How old was he was operated on?I just read that in many animal species, the later males are neutered the more likely they will continue their sexual behaviors becausethe behaviorshas become so imprinted.

You did say, "occasionally," so maybe that infers a diminishment, eh?In which case, he would be reacting along a normal curve.Urinating in front of the cage may not go away because it is not necessarily a sexually induced behavior.Could be territorial or insult.Rabbits do insult one another in that manner.

Had two bucks who would regularly trade such an insult whenever either of them was released from his own cage.Immediate beeline for the other's cage and take a pee/poop.It was just a given. LOL

Apollo could always use a littlebrother. So if Napolean is insulting the girls I'd be more than happyto save them face.;);)Here Napolean, c'mon boy.

His neuter was two months ago and the vet estimated that he was about two years old.

The spraying did go way down after the neuter, but he has started doingit more lately. He sprayed Ally last night. Shecame up behind him and I think he was startled. He got hergood.

He regularly sprays my little rabbit, Baby, but she loves him and follows him around like a puppy.

He has completely stopped mounting, circling and grunting, so I'm thankful for that.

That's funny - a "Mini Me" for Apollo. I actually may re-homeNapoleon. A co-worker of mine just lost her beloved guineapig and wants another little furry friend. We'llsee. He may do better in a home without otherrabbits.

Tina, you haven't offended anyone, silly! The only way I'd let him go is if it's someone I know- someone who I know will take care of him. If he goes to myco-worker, I'll get daily updates and pictures, so I'd be okay withthat. When it comes right down to it, I don't know if I'll beable to let him go. We'll see.

I felt so bad. I can understand youdilema. I know this isn't much help but I bought a small carpet cleanerLittle Green Machine and I use it when Apollo pees just so it wouldn'tstain it.

Another idea is for after you clean the spot. I takea wash cloth and dampen it with some Vinegar and water and wipe it overthe spot. I've noticed Apollo doesn't pee there near as oftennow.

Tina

rrrrgh...if only something would work for Bub!!! :mad:Short of neutering....but sometimes I am THIS close....:p

Then I think of gorgeous baby Pals down the road, take a deep breath, remove my hands from around his neck;), and go wash my face...andcoat...and hair...AGAIN!!!!:X

It makes it worse that he thinks it is SO funny.:mad::mad::mad:

P.S. back off, bunnynappers, you still can't have him.;)

I need one of those spot cleaners. His favorite spot is on anarea rug by the girls' cage. There is carpet underneath, so Ikeep a plastic shopping bag between the rug and carpet to keep it fromgoing through. I saturate the spot in vinegar every night, then blot it. It's all I can do for now. I'veapplied for a loan so we can finish the bunny room. Right nowit's just a big open space above the garage. It's a bigproject, but it will be worth it. I'm trying to figure outwhat type of flooring to use. It definitely won't becarpet! I need to go look at linoleum and see what my optionsare. I sat with Napoleon for a long time lastnight, petting him. He was tooth-purring.He's so sweet. I really don't think I can part withhim. I hope the loan comes through!

Laura

I understand completely. I'm goingtomorrow to look at wall covering and linoleum options. With Dale beinggone jer and I will be doing most of the work.:shock:Scarythought.

I will pray that you get the loan.

How sweet of Napolean. Purring is so awesome. Right up there with bunny kisses and yawns.

I hope it works out for.

Tina

I got the loan for the bunny room!Yay!!! Kevin says he can get a lot of it done while we are atthe party - four days with no interruptions. We can putlinoleum down and Napoleoncan whereverhe wants!
