I'm going to post the pictures as links because otherwise, it all comes out too large.

The above pictures are ofSperi (a.k.a. Smores). I'll give you a quick bio below...and any questions or comments are welcome - of course! :D

Name: Speri (a.k.a. Smores)

Gender: Female

Age: 5 - 6 yrs. - I'm not exactly sure on that...

Breed: Hmmm...from what everyone seemed to think here - Lop/Mini Rex...

Abode and Contents: 3 1/2' x 2' wire cage with a pull out tray. Green litter box, water bottle, food bowl, hanging bell toy, hay rack, and wicker mat (well, that was recently demolished...)

Favorite Treat: Raisins so far...[I try to give them too often].

Food: Mazuri pellets& Kaytee sun dried grass hay (if anyone could tell me if this means timothy or alfalfa, that would be awesome) and I'm trying to incorporate fresh veggies into her diet, but I'm not sure which ones are good to give everyday.

Origin of Speri: Speri was a class pet for a 6th grade classroom, and I saved her from all the grasping hands of kids. lol

I want to give a special thanks to Nut who gave an endless amount of information when I hardly knew the first thing about special bunny care and nutrition. I also thank all of Rabbits Online, because this is a wonderful source ofknowledgeable rabbit peopleand bunny sharing bungalow.

Yesterday, Speri and I went outside on her new harness, and she liked it very much. Next time I'll take some more pictures to post around here and a video once I get her moving around a bit...or when she decides she wants to move around. :p

She's a cutie! Glad she did so well on her new harness, that is great. There are lots of good treats safe for buns, you'll find lots of that info on here in the library and nutrition section. I'm so glad you have given Speri such a great home, and I can't wait to hear more about her! :)

Thank you! I was so proud of her when she did so well with her harness. I really believe she was rewarding me instead of the other way around. It almost seemed as though shetolerated it enough for her to get some fresh air, make me happy that she was calm when I put her harness on, and then I couldrush back to her cage so she can have her peace.Speri can be a funny bun sometimes. :D

I love the name Speri!

How long had she been a class rabbit? I'd say she is definantly going to "reward" you with kindness returned. Rabbits are awesome beings!

Thank you, Leaf! :biggrin2:

Speri was a class rabbit for one full school year. So, about 180 days. I'm in high school now, but I remember back to all of the kids pushing and showing to get at her to "hold" her...[there were some unique ways of doing that they did...it upset me then, and I didn't even know how to pick up a bun properly yet]! I hope I get many many happy years with Speri - she's my little bunny buddy. I have grown so much closer to her, I didn't know what I was missing back before I had Speri! All of my rabbits before I had when I was very young, and didn't get to bond with them to their full extent. :(

I'm going to bump Speri's blog up with some updates now.:USAflagwaving:

Well, as some of you may know, Speri was having a pretty hard time with the being social (coming out of the cage), but things are improving now, and we even take turns grooming each other! I'm not even attempting to pick her up yet when she comes out, I'm just trying to gain her trust.

So, over the past couple days, I took a trip out to Petsmart and bought Speri a stuffed toy. It's a little banana (like you'll see in the video and pictures). I make sure that she only has it when I'm supervising her, otherwise, I know the situation could turn less than pleasant. lol

In the video, we were playing a little game of tug, except I had to let Speri win because I didn't want to hurt her poor little mouth and teeth.:p

On to the pics and video -

[suB][I'm alsohosting one of Nut's videos, so that isn't my bun - if you happen to see that video on there too(the little orangish cutie)...I'm just the video taker with my cell phone lol].[/suB]

I love how she plays! You can tell she wants you to grab it and try to take it. Bo has games like that but he likes to play fetch with us. He tosses something and we fetch it. :?Clover plays by herself with her puppy and other toys. Tony plays with us in many ways - bullfighter bunny, tug, get da bunny...

Awww, thanks everyone! Speri can get really playful with her toys. I have to tell her all the nice comments she got later on today. ;)

What a cutie! I love the video. I knew a horse that played with a stuffed banana just like that toy. He'd pick it up with his lips and toss his head, then move it all around his mouth. He loved it so much!

I'm glad I found something Speri likes to play with. It's soft and she loves to swing it! There also was an apple variation, but I thought the banana with the peels hanging off would be to her benefit because then she can throw it around and twist it.

Thanks everyone again for all the nice comments! If only Speri new she was famous in a video. :clapping:
