i already have a bonded pair, hank and sophie. they live together full time and bonded rather quickly and are still in love. they make a good pair
but then we decided to adopt Moose (from the toronto humane society) to bond to our solo rabbit Wanda. i was and still am fully prepared the bonding wouldn't work and they'd have to live seperately but they surprised us...
in the last week they have been getting their play time together in the pen, and neither of them show aggression to each other or bite, and i've actually ran to the store and left them alone in the pen together and came back with them sitting near each other minding their own business...
now the question...
Wanda and Moose both follow each other around but for the most part are completely INDIFFERENT to each other. Wanda will put her chin to the ground in front of Moose and let Moose groom her face and her ears, but as soon as moose tries to groom her hind end she hops away with her ears down, but then will go and do a binky as if shes happy??
also any time moose tries to lay beside Wanda she will just walk away. he will also throw himself down in front of her and roll onto his back, but Wanda is completely indifferent to his attention and affection.
their cages are side by side and every day they always "Switch" cages and will spend the night in each others cages willingly, and the last couple days moose will just sit with wanda in her cage on his own....wanda won't attack or be agressive but she won't show any affection to him. i will only leave them together in their cage supervised and they seem to be fine, it just worries me they don't show any real affection to each other. my other pair groomed and cuddled before they got to the stage where they wanted to hang out in the same cage together!!!
is it safe to put them together perminantely?
