Speaking of Dog Scares...

I'd just gotten off the computer and was aboutto go take pictures of the kits. I look out into the open barn door andsee my dog Patches up on his hind legs reaching into an open cage door.I immediatly thought that it was Briar's cage, and thathe'dbe gone...(remember, Patches is an extremem hunter, he's chompedthrough cable to get at animals.)

I don't even remember the run down there, it's the fastest i've everran, hoping to be there just in time...i screamed at the top of mylungs, "PATCHES!!!"...I ran down there, he wasn't in Briar's cage, itwas BRAMBLES!!! I got Patches out of the way and looked frantically forBramble because i didn't see her in the hutch........i turned back toher hutch to see if patche's had gotten ahold of the kits, when ipeared in, GUESS WHO I SAW!!!

My eyes refocused on Bramble's pretty, blessed little head......Wheni'm upset or scared for one of my animals' life i always shakeuncontrolably, lemme tell ya, i was shakin'!!!

Bramble didn't want to come out of her nest box so i cleaned up thewater and pellets in the cage that Patches had split and the same messon the floor. I really hope Brambie doesn't stop producing milk orworse, die:?.....i can't believe i'd be stupid enough to forget thati had let Patches loose~:shock:

Briar was shaken up but unscathed......he'd only thumb everyone once in a while.....

I am SO mad at that dumb, idiotic dog.....ulgh.........hopefully i didn't mess Bramble up, her kits need her!

She's doing okay-i hope. She ate half of herpellets last night, like normal, she's pooping and urinating, soeverything in that depart ment is okay. She did act like she wasprotecting her kits, but, if she wouldn't have had those kits, i knowfor sure she'd be dead, otherwise there'd have been no nest box for herto hide in:?

Thanks guys, when it happened i just knew onewould be gone, luckily, none of them were! I can't fault Patchesthough, it's in his blood, if it's anyone's fault, it's definitly mine,i'm NOT gonna let that happen again!
