Here is Spartan's new cage. It is large enough for one male rat, plus his toys and hammocks. I do plan to upgrade though, when he gets larger and if he and Leonidas (my other male rat) bond in the future *I hope*:
Top half...
Bottom half...
Full cage...
I got the cage for free off of my local "Freecycle".

The cage was pretty much brand new and it works GREAT for Spartan! He loves it! I just need to sew up more hammocks and get a few more toys.
Here are my rat cages. Leonidas still has a homemade NIC & hardware cloth cage, but I will be buying him a new cage pretty soon (maybe tomorrow)!
Did I mention that I feed my rat's a homecooked breakfast and dinner? They also get dessert as a treat one night a week!
Here is a dinner that I made up. It contains: broccoli, peas, green beans, rice with a pear/honey sauce, some oats, and a peice of cantalope!
Spartan showing you just how yummy dinner can be:
Here is a dessert from the other night. It is a mini hot fudge/peanut butter sundae (cooled off, of course).
Spartan showing you just how much he loves sundaes':
A reminder:
If anyone on the forum has rats or is interested in getting rats and wants to know my homemade grain mixture (instead of those horrible seed mixes from the pet store) and some easy breakfast/dinners/desserts....then feel free to PM me or ask away here! You can also ask me any type of rat question that you may have!
