Just wanted to say I'm sorry I havn't been around much the last two weeks. I was offered more hours at work and I'm taking all the hours I can get right now. My husband is going in for shoulder surgery Feb 27th and will be out of work 3-4 months. He's in construction, no work, no pay... and comp doesn't come close. Things will be tight here and I'm trying to get prepared.

Really appreciate all the suggestions and help with my litter.

Oh jeeez I hate that hubby's gonna be out of work like that. We have those issues here - heavy equiptment mechanic. No sick time or anything with his union.

Glad you stopped in to say hello :)

ARGHHH! This project was supposed to be over by Saturday! I was supposed to be off on Sunday! They just extended it until the middle of next week! (It's NOT fair!)

:tantrum::tantrum::whatever:banghead :tantrum::tantrum:

Oh yeah! And they just told me that when the rollout starts (in April) I get to do it all over again! (I may have to kill someone... hmmmm... where to stash the body?)

Gross, I am sorry :(

You could pull a Sweney Todd and sell some meat pies around the office after your boss goes missing - would help with money and your stress level!

Hey, I can set you up with a private room here on RO. :) (Just make sure it doesn't stink up the whole forum). ;)

And this is PAID work I assume? Keep focu$ing on that!!

OK, big project at work finished up 9:00 tonight! YEAHHHHH! Just poured myself a lovely glass of wine. Hope the proposal passes muster! So much work!

Tomorrow is hubby's surgery to fix his shoulder (roto cuff - 89% tear). Have to be in Manhattan by 8 a.m. Guess we'll leave by 5:30. Hope it all goes well. If the repair works, he'll be able to go back to work in 3-4 months.:) If it doesn't work, he'll be retired. :( Here's hoping it all goes well.

OH man I am happy for you! I will be thinking of your hubby tomorrow. Tell him these crazy bunny people wish him a quick and easy surgery with a nice and easy healing process......

so he can get his butt back to work!!! (ok don't tell him that last part....) :D

Thanks Pennie. I'll give him part of your message. LOL!

Made it home from the hospital. (I hate driving in Manhattan! Thoes people are maniacs!) Roto cuff was 100% torn. The doctorput it back where it belongs. (Hopefully it will heal. They told us 30% chance of failure. BUt I prefer to think of a 70% success rate!) He had to have some bone shaved and muscles trimmed and repaired. He's all trussed up like a turkey! LOL! (Poor baby...). Very tired, but he's not in any pain yet. They used some kind of nerve block to numb it. Supposed to last 10 hours. (So I guess it'll wear off soon.) Just relieved it's over.

I like the 70% success rate chance better too....

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Peg

Shaving bone? Trimming muscle?? Ugh, that sounds painful. Hope he has good meds once the initial stuff wears off.

How long do you have to wait to find out whether it worked?

Definitely will need to be waiting on him hand and foot (shoulder and foot?)for the best chance at healing. Hopefully he's a typical guy and won't mind beingbabied? ;)

My best to both of you. I really wish I could do something. I've been thinking about what I can do for the last couple of days. :ponder: (I WILL think of something!)

Glad he's out of surgery! It does sound like he's going to be in pain.

I hope he isn't too big of a baby! omg John would be a pain in the butt!

Ouch! Hope he's not too sore :?. Mat's dad had that done last year and had this tube going into his shoulder with a little gadget attached to it so he could press a button and release some pain meds, was pretty nifty. Did your husband get one? They are meant to be pretty good.

Good luck for his recovery.

How's Hubby doing today, Cathy? Is he doing better? I know you mentioned that he had rather awful pain for a bit there...did they square away those pain meds?

I hope things are better...

I wish they had given him a pain pump. They sent him home with Vicodin and said that was the best they could do... He was in agony Wednesday and Thursday. The pills didn't do anything. He was gringing his teeth and moaning. I felt awful. (I wouldn't let a rabbit suffer like that!)

Today, he's doing better. He's not taking as much of the pain meds. But he's not a good patient. He does not sit down.

He can not be left home alone. I left him alone for a few hours on Friday to go into the office. I came home to find himstanding on the kitchen chairs! The ballast for the kitchen light blew on Thursday. He wastrying to remove the light's cover! OMG! I had a heart attack! Today I had to take him to Home Depot and buy a new Ballast... and then I can home and had to unwire the bad one and wire in the new one, with him standing there telling me everything I was doing wrong! (I've done this before... but I tried not to argue.)

I'm having his mother and dad come over a few hours a day next week. (I'm arfaid he's going to hurt himself or undo the surgery...) LOL! Pretty sad, huh? He's a grown man, but it's like having another kid!

Oh man! Why wouldn't they give him more pain meds for that?

I'm amazed at that! It drives me crazy that they do the surgery and then out the door they go!

Oh how frustrating...him not wanting to take it easy. I know what you mean, sometimes I feel like I have two kids (along with all the furkids) when Danny just won't let himself heal from something...

Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers,

Rosie*
