My son is almost 11 years old. A few times I've caught my older bun charging him when he goes near his cage or the bunny. Even when I'm there, he seems to want to charge my son. Could it be that my son's scent is changing and Peaches doesn't recognize him? Peaches was neutered last September.

Could that be what is causing him to charge him? He doesn't always do it. Sometimes he'll let himself get pet but then he'll charge.

If my son isn't with me, then Peaches acts normal & loving but when my son is there, he charges. Can I fix this behaviour by having my son put Peaches' head down and saying "no" or will this go on.

Like I said, Peaches doesn't do this to me when I'm alone or when my daughter is there. I don't think my son is quite at the "change" age either but his hormones may be changing. It's too bad cuz Peaches is normally a huge softy and my son can pick him up each morning.

It's a possibility. Saying "no" and pushing the rabbit's head down would be a good start to discouraging the behavior.

We had a house rabbit that charged at anyone with white socks on, so there could be any number of factors involved in this particular case.

We had our treasured Princess since she was a tiny baby, so abuse wasn't an issue. She appeared to find anything white offensive (she even chased after our white horse once).

We had a buck who came after me one day when I had blackbarn boots on - apparently he perceived them as some type of threat.
