OK as some of you know I am a HUGE Charlie Chaplin fan. He is my favorite actor and I have everything he ever made in my collection. In 1940 his people wanted him to make a "talkie" cause all the other studio's had switched to them. When he finally did it he made a film that nobody wanted him to make. A comedy about Hitler with himself playing Adolf and making fun of him. This is before America joined the war mind you...At the end of the film he makes a speech that is considered to be the greatest speech in movie history. I love this piece of film and I think everyone should see it considering the state of the world. Please watch it and then if you like it then share it with others. Its a message that should be spread and not forgotten....Enjoy.

Ooooooh I really liked that movie! I watched it a few years ago. I was really admire the fact that he was poking fun and critising Hitler even before we became involved.

I need to watch that again.

I love Charlie Chaplin, too! That's a great scene. I love how he really has stepped out of character and is speaking with true passion and conviction. Beautiful.

When my brother and I were little, before we could even read, my mom would show us old silent films. I remember her reading all the title cards from "The Gold Rush." I plan to do that with my kids one day, too.
