some sad news for me and some good news

smarty the hamster went home tonight

it was sad to see him go and he was a deleight to look after

the good news is tony hubby has said i can get a hamster next week

the only thing is lucy didnt no about smarty as tony said they would offort but as i explained smarty would of been in his exercise ball

Smartie was lucky to have spent some time with you. You took very good care of him!

I'm so happy to hear that Tony is letting you get a hammie!!!
At one time we had a dozen hammies living in the bunnie room.

That's great news, Varna!

I would suggest you use a large aquarium or plastic storage bin for the hamster's cage.

Hamsters tend to chew bars a lot, causing damage to teeth and sometimesthe teeth grow up into the brain and kill them.

We believe that's how our first hamster died, so I made a bin cage for our new one.

The bin cages are cheap and easy to make and offer moreventilation. Most hamster forums have instructions on how tomake them.
