My husband and I had found this rabbit about 4 years ago outside under a bush at my parents house. They live near a nature center and unfortunately, you do see rabbits that were obviously pets running in the woods Most are so scared they bolt the minute you see them, but this guy was very tame and super friendly. His face was all scarred up from it looks like an attack. We had him for about 6 months before he passed away (unknown reasons). We kept trying to ID him but could never quite match a breed. He was super cool looking... a big boy, huge ears, and super soft, short and dense fur, much like velvet! We actually called him the Velveteen rabbit..LOL. My hunch was Rex...

How much did he weigh? He's definitely a rex - he has the rex fur and as it's recessive, both of his parents must have had rex fur as well.

He looks much bigger than a mini-rex, so I'm going to say he's a standard rex. He's beautiful!

he's only part Standard rex as the body type is full arch rather than commercial
