Since we are now bunnyless and I miss Bunny, Iam going to volunteer at the House Rabbit Society. There is aholiday party at the humane society here on Friday night so I emailedmy info to volunteer there and then on Saturdays they pack hay at thevet by me so I will head there to pack away some hay :)

This way I can do my part to help out and get to know rabbit peoplehere. Who knows, maybe I will see a rabbit or twothat we just have to adopt.

My husband and I have been talking about it and we do want to haveanother rabbit or two our lives. We are going to wait untilthe time is right.

Are there others on the forum that volunteer? If so, what do you do?

At our shelter, you canvolunteer to spend time with the bunnies in a room for their free runand to socialize with them. Therequirement is that you have to commit at least onehour a week for 6 months.

Rainbows! :)

When I lost my last dog 11 years ago, I decidedto do what you are doing...I volunteered my weekends to walk dogs atthe Humane Society. I missed having a dog in my life, but had been sodevastated by the loss of Misty that I swore I would not have another.However...18 months into dogwalking and...I came home with Kaya. ;)

Bless you for what you are going to be doing. You will be helping somany bunnies who need love and attention, and I guarantee, you willfind it so rewarding.
Who knows, maybe I will see a rabbit or two that we just have to adopt.
Since you and your husband are bunny lovers, I think that will be a given... :bunnydance:

Oh, I think that's wonderful. I am sure you willmeet many like-minded people when you are volunteering, and yes, I amsure that a bunny or twoo will find their way into your heart :).

Good luck and enjoy it! Don't forget to keep us posted :D

I just got home from volunteering at the HouseRabbit Society holiday potluck. It was really nice.I pretty much was the greeter andmoney woman. I wassurprised at this only because I have never met these people before andthey have me handling their money :)

I was often askedhow many rabbits I had and why didn't Ibring them. I politely explained that Bunny passed recentlyand they were all so nice. Some asked if we were going toadopt anymore and I said I would like to eventually.

Anyway, I met a lot of nice people whose names I will never rememberand saw a lot of terrific bunnies. It was sad in many waysbecause they were taking holiday pictures and making stockings for therabbits and I just thought about Bunny and how it would have beenreally neat to do those things with her. I didn't pick up orpet any of the rabbits because I just was not readyforit. However, it was nice to see them from adistance.

Overall, it was a very nice way to spend a Friday night when hubby and son are out of town.

Tomorrow morningI am going to pack hay. Apparentlywhen you pack hay you get a free box. Our guinea pigs willlike that. Have to remember to go by Home Depot and pick upsome workgloves.

I think it is so great you have decided tovolunteer! I am sure all of the bunnies are going to greatly appreciateall that you are doing for them. And I cant wait for the moment youmeet that "right one" and we get to see some pictures! :D

Good Luck with your endeavour!
