abput 2 weeks ago, my bunny started sneezing andcoughing at random. right when we we're going to take him tothe vet he stopped and didn't make a sound from that point on, tillyesterday.

what the symptoms coincided with is that the air conditioning had brokedown right before both cases. so we have to keep the windows open, andit gets dangerously hot
somewhere between 90-95 in the daytime. which i just read on the otherthread is like 15 degrees to hot for a rabbit, i had no idea.

so my basic thoughts are....

1. it's an allergy being that he is right next to a window
2. it's a by-product of being to hot

suggestions? advice?

thanx.

First, keep him cool. Read this threadfor tons of good ideas. I like to use fans and frozen waterbottles. http://rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=864&forum_id=1

Second, does he have any discharge? Mucous around the eyes, nose, or legs from cleaning his face? If he has any mucousyou should definately take him to the vet.

Third, are his hay or pellets dusty? That can cause them to sneeze, but I don't know about the cough.

Really, if you are not sure about the cause it's best to take him to a vet and get it checked out.

I hope he feels better soon!

thanks for the link to the other thread on cooling him off.
no discharge at all, if anything kind of too dry, do bunnies need a certain amount of moisture in the air?
i make sure he's never in direct sunlight too.
no dusty hay or pellets.
what makes me think allergy is that he rubs at his nose with his paws.
but yeah, i'm sure we'll just end up taking him to the vet.
and thank you for the well wishes.
