Hi, today i noticed a small spot in my rabbits eye. It stays in place and doesn’t move when the eye is closing. Could it be E. cuniculi?

Other than that my rabbit is fine and happy. Her apetite is huge and she has lots of energy.

I will be taking her to the vet tomorrow but there are no vets specialised in rabbits where i live. So i would appreciate any suggestions on what could this be.

I sent a reply, but I don't think you received it. It could be E.cuniculi. Years ago, I had a bunny who developed a white spot on one of her eyes. My vet (at that time) said there was nothing that really could be done and if the bunny seems fine otherwise, let it be. You might be able to look it up on line for more info. But, it is best to take her to a vet. Although, if your vet does not treat bunnies, he might not know what it is. I think they do a blood test to determine if it is E.cuniculi (I can't remember) Perhaps, your vet can consult with a vet who does care for bunnies. Good luck. Let us know what is going on.

Hi!

I took my rabbit to the vet. She got an chloramphenicol ointment and the eye is less inflammed. The spot is getting smaller. If it doesn’t heal in a week i will take her back to remove the spot.

Thank you dgorgo.
