hello,
My bunny has had skin problems on and off for the last few months. He got fleas a few months ago when we moved into a new house, I used revolution and they cleared up. He then started getting itchy ears and dry flakey skin, almost like dandruff, on his back down near his tail. I took him back to the vet who checked his ears and couldn’t see any issues and gave me another dose of Revolution. This does not seem to be clearing up though. His hair comes out in clumps and there are bits of dry skin attached to it. He also has some small patches of what looks like new hair growing as it’s very short. The dry skin is quite thick and flakey. He hasn’t been himself and is staying away from his humans ! Any ideas??

Ivermectin can also be used to treat mites, dosage 04mg/kg(very small amount), 3 treatments 10-14 days apart. I would suggest talking to your vet about giving that a try, and make sure your rabbit's environment is cleaned very thoroughly as well.

If that doesn't work, there is a skin condition called sebaceous adenitis, that can have a similar appearance to mites, though if this is the case you would also want your rabbit checked for a possible underlying cause of the skin condition, as it can sometimes happen due to something else going on internally.
