So, I currently have two buns live in a 6 x 10 foot dog run, attached is a 3 x 3 wooden dog house for hiding in during the day, as well as multiple boxes and other fun stuff.
I feel a bit uncomfortable leaving them loose in the run at night and I'm thinking about either building or purchasing a hutch that will primarily serve as a hidey box during the day, but one I would be able to lock them up in at night. (also they will probably spend a fair amount of time in there during the winter during bad snow storms/deeeeep freezes.)
My question is, what would be an appropriate sized hutch for this purpose? I do have two big buns, Daphne is an e-lop and Darwin is a flemish mix (with chinchilla we're thinking).
Or am I just being a worry wart about wanting them locked up at night? Their run is chain link, two of the 4 sides are enclosed (one by garage wall, one by a large piece of plywood) and the other two are reinforced (actually by NIC cube panels) to stop doggie noses from being able to get through the chain link. (and yes, there is a roof, and yes the floor is entirely covered in mesh, about 3 inches down under the ground)
Thank you
