I got a PDF for the next show, but not a lot of info. There are 3 shows, A,B,C. I can't seem to find what the difference between them are. Are they the same thing, just 3 times?

They said its "Carrying cage show" with solid bottoms. What cages are ok to bring? Like a cat carrier or an actual rabbit cage?

Now some really stupid questions. Sheriff is 15 weeks, so he is a jr right?

What do I put under "variety" and "fur"?

Is variety like solid and fur black?

lol thanks in advanced :)

Your show is a TRIPLE show - meaning if you want to show your rabbit in each show - you'll pay the entry fee three times.

They want something with solid bottoms I'm guessing so that hay, poops, etc. won't get out onto the floor and make it harder to clean.

Sheriff is a junior - yes.

Fur is a "class" of its own - I want to say it is usually for meat pens but I don't know for sure.

Let me share how I did my entry for the state show.

Breed Variety Class Sex Tattoo #
Flemish Light Grey Sr Doe JL84

Does that help?

I don't remember what breed Sheriff is...sorry.

If you want to send me a link to the PDF if it is on the internet - I can go check it out.

But basically - your rabbit will go before 3 different judges if its shown in all three shows.

Fur class is a separate entry that requires another card and fee. If the rabbit is DQ'd during breed judging, it can't be judged in the fur class.

Any rabbit can be shown in it's breed fur class - it is judged after breed judging is complete. Most people generally don't enter their rabbits in the fur class.

"Carrying cage" means that there is no cooping available.

If Sheriff is your English Lop, lops are exhibited only as solid or broken (individual variety would not be listed). If he's a black, he'd be entered as a solid.

That does help Peg. I see now.

So Pamnock, would a dog/cat carrier be ok?

And I assuming I should enter all 3 shows for the best chances?

I am really hopeful about sheriff, besides his lack of fur on his ears. :(

The SOP doesn't fault a sparsely furred ear in English Lops - yes any type of dog/cat crate is fine.

Yes - you can enter all 3 shows if its a triple show.

Ok, I think you told me that before.
Thanks so much! I am sending it in right now.

Do you do anything special to prep your rabbits for a show?

Clip nails and run damp hands over the coat to remove loose fur. Use a "dry" pet shampoo to remove any stains from the coat.

Best of luck showing Sheriff!:D

Not to HiJack this thread, i just have a question, Pam or Peg...

At the show today, they weighed the Rex before judging, but I didn't see any others weighed (such as Flemish), why is this? The Rex had to be at 7.5 or above.

The show is supposed to provide scales for the judges, but sometimes there are not enough for every table. This means that the judge often has to walk across the showroom each time he wants to weigh a rabbit, so they often only weigh those that they are rather sure don't make weight.

I always bring my own scale to shows so that I'll have one at my table for easy access.

Well, for those who don't read the blogs, I have bad news, I can't make it to this show..but there is another in April so I will keep all this information for then :)
Thanks!
