I am going to be showing my N. Dwarf in a small county fair in Open. I was wondering, do they ask questions about your rabbit in open or is that only in 4-H?

They won't ask you questions in open or youth in a ARBA sanctioned show. The judge is not supposed to know who owns the rabbit while he is judging them.

It's a county fair. It isn't ARBA. And what is the difference between fitting and showing, conformation and showmanship??:?

At our fitting and showing 4-H competition, it is simply based on the selection and ability to enhance condition and appearance of your project through proper feeding and care. Grooming is also evaluated. Some competitions may require you to demonstrate yourgeneral knowledge of rabbits.

In showmanship, the exhibitor does a complete oral examination and evaluation of the animal, demonstrating showmanship ability as well as knowledge.

It's a good idea to speak to someone familiar with the competitions in your county, because rules vary widely.

I have printable general knowledge flashcards on my website as well as showmanship information: nockrabbits.com
