Hi everyone!
How are you all doing?
I made a short video of myself mounting on Newton, a horse I ride (and LOVE so much). I look funny in it, so I thought I'd share with you all.

BTW, he's a Appy/QH, 5 years old, gelding. =]

Cool. You're lucky that Newton stands still, lol! The mare I ride/lease is tied up when being mounted just after tacking. I use some of the most hilarious things to mount her, because the girth on my jumping saddle can never be tightened all the way, so if I don't mount using a leg-up or a step, the saddle slips.

Lol, you should of seen me yesterday; I was riding bareback and I mounted from her right side, cuz she wouldn't stand with her left side against the mounting block; she just swung the other way and I thought, hey, she's still; so I hopped on! It worked too.
My mare is an Appaloosa too.

Thanks for sharing - beautiful horse :) I have a Thoroughbred mare and a Haflinger gelding, and my Haflinger I ride bareback, trail riding on our property... my TB mare - she thinks she was made for the rodeo!

You've got a good horse there, and a good friend :)

Haflinger gelding

YOU MUST SHARE PICTURES . Haflinger horses are so gorgeous and striking to me. I have my eye on a breeder in AZ for when I can finally get a horse one day....even if it's another possible 10 years from now :?.

Ugh, mounting was always so tough, lol. I rode a 15.3hh Standardbred gelding for 8 years.

I also did ride a "16.something hh" TB gelding from off the track. Being 5'2...that was always tough.

I miss riding :tears2:.

Here is a picture of both my guys :) There is also a pic of me riding my big man (Wrambler the Haflinger) at www.haflingerhorses.com/newowner/ I love him to pieces, he is the greatest horse. He is only 14.2 hands so that makes a big difference for me because I'm only 5'2! My Thoroughbred is 15.2 hh, which isn't terribly big but she's really tall for me. I'll put more pictures in my blog when I get a minute. Haflingers are my favorite breed - they are so patient and willing, and beautiful :) I went to Pennsylvania last year to pick up my Chihuahua and came home with a 4 pound dog, and Wrambler (actually it took months and lots of $ to get him transport, but it was SO worth it)

I have pictures of the mare i ride in my blog too. It's Called "My Bunny Blog!" lol.

Cute horses! My mare is 15.3 hh I think. She is my favorite horse....well besides the mare I learned to ride on, Chancie; but I love Sioux too. I ride her bareback and english show-jumping. I love to ride her bareback though. The funny thing is, I've never fallen off this mare; no matter what we do, and how many times I've slipped on her back, I've never fallen off! It's really good though, lol. I have a lot of confidence and the main thing I focus on while riding is to stay on and do what I want her to do. That really helps. Most people, while riding, don't think about staying on as the main thing, so they always loose focus and fall off, IMO.
