Haha! How cute! We've had dogs do similar things...

Our old Westie-Poo, Eppy, ran away with the neihbor's poodle, Peaches, and ran to the grocery store near the house. The store was about three-blocks away (but we lived in a subdivision where there are no blocks). We got a phone call from the store manager (and friend of my mum) saying that Eppy and Peaches were just walking up and down the store aisles together. Funny little pup...

Our old Westie, Jenny, liked to try and steal rawhide chews from the pet store near the grocery store. She would come in with me to pick up some things, quickly grab a bone, and keep walking around the store with me. I didn't see her do it the first couple times, but the store owners were nice enough to give us a few freebies!

LOL! Now that dog earned his bone - even if he aquired it rather underhandedly. :biggrin2:

I too used to have a dog that stole. Charlie - a beagle mix we had as a family pet when I was growing up - used to go up to Al's, a local corner store two blocks away, and would wander into the back storage area (an old garage) where Al kept his various overstock. Charlie was seen several times dashing from there, porkchop or steak firmly in mouth, and headed for the hills lickety-split. He was often spotted but never caught. haha...Al used to come flying out of his store after him, cursing up a storm and throwing things. One time we kids were there when Charlie decided to pull a heist - since he'd followed us to the store anyway - and when he was seen hightailing it out of the shed with a huge chunk of frozen meat in his grip, Al flew out after him...then came back all red-faced and out of breath. He asked us if we knew who owned the thieving #%$%$. We all shook our heads and said 'Nope...never seen him before in our lives'.
