Ok, I'm just in shock right now. Iwas standing upstairs ready to go to bed after therabbits have been put to bed and heard a thumping. I went downstairs and Pebbles started thumping loudly, followedby Pepsi thumping and looking scared, the whites of her eyes showing, in the corner of her cage. I went to go calm Pepsi down, then heardPebbles thrashing around in her cage and she let out a squeel. Iimmediatley wentto her cage andchecked her. She was sitting upwide eyed looking very frightened.I managed to calm both down to the point they'd come to the side of the cage if I held a treat and would stay for a pat. I'mworried and scared what could havespooked them that bad. I'm still shaking! They both seemed fine, and I don't know if Pepsi accidentley spooked Pebbles or something. I just shut the door and I'll see from there. This happend maybe 5 minutes ago. I have no clue what could have spooked them that bad!

It can be the oddest things... Somebody's shape changing by carrying a laundry basket... A ceiling fan mistaken for a big bad hawk...Even flies and moths have sent some rabbits into panic mode.

Anything outside that might have made some noises? Just talk to them calmly, make sure the room is secure and they should be okay.

We had something like that happen last night too. Minus the squealing though. Dandi and Bummy were thumping and freaking out in their pens. I tried to calm them down but they were looking panicky yet oddly angry too. I couldn't figure it out at first. I shut off the overhead lights, the TV and just sat and watched the bunns for a minute. Then I heard it...scratch scratch scratch in the ceiling. Well crap. I guess with all the rain we have had, the mice have gone to higher ground...that being the attic crawl space. I couldn't hear the darned things but the bunns could apparently! And BOY they were MAD!

They seem fine this morning, although Pepsi didn't eat half her veggies and all her pellets. I still have no clue what might have set them off. Even during loud thunder and lightening aweek or so agothey didn't react that badly. :?I shut the door half way so it wouldn't get stuffy, turned on the night light in the hall and shut the hall light off (my normal bedtime routine). I don't know if my brothers did something to scare them or made a noise or something? The room seemed fine, no objects in the wrong place. I hope that doesn't happen again!

Thanks!

Binkie thumps a lot during the night, too. I think she's bored and she wants someone to get up and play with her.

Then MooShu gets thumping because Binkie is thumping. The it becomes a thumpfest until they wear themselves thumpless. We ususally just close the door to the bunnie room and let them thump away.

Binkie: *thump*

MooShu: *thump*

Binkie: *thump* wadda you thumpin at

MooShu: *thump* don't know...wadda you thumpin at

Binkie: *thump*thump* i'm thumpin at you

MooShu: *thump*thump* then i'm thumpin at you thumpin at me

and so on........
...and now Tootsie gets into the act, too!

LOL! That's probably what thosesilly girls were doing last night! After Pebbles thumped, I guess she must have scared Pepsi so Pepsi started thumping (Hmm, maybe they scared each other thinking they were the only ones in the room?). I was fine with the thumping, until I heard that squeel that didn't sound like a scream, it was quieter and had a different tone to it.
