Well, she is here! I am still in shock, lol. I just can't believe how everything worked out so quickly and fell into place! Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Despite the bad weather and tons of snow we got over the past 2 days, I was still able to make the drive to meet the gal from the shelter and we adopted Joya!
This lady was awesome! She had Joya all set up in a small travel cage with bedding, food, hay, etc. and covered with a warm blanket. I had printed off the application and contract via their website, had it all filled out, etc. and we exchanged the paperwork, I paid the adoption fee, she gave me a GREAT, informative Rabbit Care Handbook and some pellets to mix with our pellets (pellets Joya is used to eating), and her husband put the cage with Joya inside into our van and we were on our way home. It was minimal stress for Joya!
Vinny is THRILLED to say the least to have met Joya and Joya seems to have warmed right up to Vinny (thank God!). She doesn't seem to mind grooming Vinny as much as he wants her too, lol.
She is awesome! I mean AWESOME! I cannot get over how CALM this girl is! Despite my baby/toddler crying, the dogs barking, etc., she has yet to show an ounce of nervousness. Just the first time the dogs barked, she hopped over to me and I picked her up to reassure her and she was fine. I am so grateful and shocked to see how friendly she is. I mean she does not mind being pet or picked up (not that we are going to pick her up & carry her around all the time), but you know what I mean.
I like the name Joya very much, but I also like the name Mia, so I'm not sure what'll I do yet, but so far I'm calling her Joya, lol.
So, enough talk, here are pics of Joya (isn't she BEAUTIFUL?):
