My sister and I are most likely getting two sheep within the next week or so. I have a couple of names that I like but I would like a few options.

Here are the ones i already have:

Mollyand

Shyloh

Anysuggestions?

Angora, Poppy, Ginny, Hermione, Jane, Emma, maybe fave characters from a movie, TV, book, ect? i hope y'all are planing on posting pics! how old are they? my friends family has some sheep, but i haven't seen them yet, he's not around much.

Great names so far!!

I asked my sister if the sheep were purebred and registered and she said yes so now I am thinking of a registered name and then a "stable" name. They are suffolk sheep.

Has anyone on here shown sheep? Can they have registered names? I know that i can give the sheep a long name and then have a stable name for her and all.

Edit: Found another name I like: Missy

Ok I found some. Some are flowers,;)

The registered name is first, the "stable" name is seperated by the dash.

Sweet Alyssum-Alyssym (Al-lis-um) (i love this one)

Baby Blue Eyes- Baby

Tahoka Daisy-Tahoka (I love this one)

Okay ones that arent flowery:

Seattle Alora (one i thought of)- Alora

Ceilos Rosa (spanish for Heaven's Rose)-Heaven/Rose

Edit: Got another one:

Ceilos Amor (spanish for Heaven's Love)- Lovely or something.

Well, if you are getting them and they are suffolk ewes, think of something around the UK, cause that's where they originated. Also, a theme is always good.....

They're four months old right now I think. Yes, we'll post tons of pictures when we get them! ;) We should get them this weekend or the weekend after ;)

I was thinking about some Suffolk related names. All i can think of for girl names is Elisabeth Garrett Anderson. She was the first female Mayor in the UK.

I don't think there is really anything else that stands out about it. Something to do with Ipswich maybe?

Fran :) :hearts :brownbunny

Ladybug, I'm not sure what colors ours are, lol. But those are very colourful!! I think ours are the regular white fleece with black face/legs ;)

Fran, I actually like Garrett for a sheep, but we're not getting rams:? we're just getting two ewes.

Actually, people do that for Easter - they dye sheep, ducklings, and chicks. Some people dye their dogs and bunnies.... I think it's mean unless they use koolaid..... that's what Lexi used in her hair to make a red streak LOL!

I agree BBB, it is mean to dye animals unless with koolaid, since that washes out easily, but I still probably wouldn't even dye my animals - even with koolaid!

Well, we're going tonight at 6:00 (pacific time) to pick up two suffolk ewes! Well, we're leaving my house at like 4:45 (because knowing my dad, we'll probably get lost....even though I have two sets of directions :p)

So, I'll update when we get back (because I won't be on until probably 8:30 since I have a graduation party to go to today as well....) and I should have at least a few pictures of each of them. I'll bring the camera with us when we go to pick them up, so we can get pictures of hauling, etc.

I'm sooo excited! :biggrin2:

There's more but I'll upload them tomorrow. During the process of getting the sheep and working with them, I got a blood blister on my thumb :(

Emily

Yup there names are Macey and Lissie.

I was practicing setting up and bracing today with Macey and she is a natural! Of course, I could already notice some things we'll need to work on from the pictures my sister took (such as: her front legs weren't directly underneath her and square; her back legs weren't square;) So I'll have to work on those things, but she braces so good too! :biggrin2:I'm so happy that she can show well, now I just have to work on halter training, etc.

I'll have more pictures in a while, but I have to go shower off the sheep smell! :p

Emily

Yeah I named mine Alyssym but I call her Lissie for short.

Emi why don't you make a new thread for this? You can you know.:biggrin2:
