Babs. English Lop. 2.5yrs. Has had onelitter. No other prior health concerns. Eats perfect ..pellets and hay. 16%. Drinks great. Solid round stools. DID have one day of runny poo, but that was after the day prior getting some oats for treat. she gets revolution once a month as precaution.

There is her info.

SHe is shedding like mad. I can just run my hand across her and tons of fur comes out. Its all over in her cage, brush..etc. There are NO bald spots. Just tons of fur. My other elops are not doing this but I know each rabbit is different.

Shes a bit think I think after her babies being gone for 3weeks now, I hope her hormones catch up. She eats great..but her spine I can feel too much to my liking.

BUT the fur issue. Is this normal? I dont recall her ever having it this bad?

it sounds like she has given birth recently ...

I am going to transfer this to the Rabbitry section of the forum hoping that some of the breeder's may be more familar with fur loss after giving birth ..

Maybe she's going through a more rapid shed than you're used to because of just having weaned her litter? The stress of that, maybe?

She has not given birth recently. ITs been about 3weeks since her kits were weaned.
Perhaps hormones still crazy? Just with her I have never seen it before.

sounds like nest making with babes and all/hormones involved,,as i wash my hands our house rabbit wants held so after snuggling,,i wash my hands again and it kinda looks like some of the rabbit went down the drain,,..when building a nest for babes they will pull fur out for a nest plus the shedding/molting seems to go on forever....things sound ok...sincerely james waller:wave:
