My rabbit is currently shedding and she obviously is hating me when I try to brush her (she’s only 4.5 months old) but normally she is very active and playing but now she sits in one spot and plays here and there. She’s eating normal and pooping normal but I’m curious if this is normal when a rabbit sheds?

If rabbits are ingesting very much fur while shedding, this can slow down their digestive tract to the point it can cause digestive upset and for them to act more subdued. If this continues, it can worsen to the point they develop GI stasis and a possible obstruction. The best thing for them when they are shedding, is consuming lots of hay, always free fed. I will even decrease pellets if needed, so my rabbits will eat more hay to help increase gastric motility. Stalky hay works best for this. You'll want to keep a really close eye on your rabbits poop(size, how much fur is in it) and if your rabbits appetite decreases. Changes in these things can signal there is a health issue and your rabbit may be on the verge of GI stasis.
