I took Shades to get her top and bottom front clipped today. She's been attacking Cappy everytime Cappy goes near her. Almost as if she doesn't feel good and doesn't want to be bothered. She does stretch out and not in theloaf position so I can't tell if she's in pain. She won't let us look at her teeth yet. She did eat pellets earlier and I made some pellet mash with baby food that she did eat. She went up to the greens but won't touch it.

Should I give her a dose of Metacam? Will it do harm if she's not in pain?

Her output is fine, she's using the litterbox.

Edited to say she ate 2 pieces of baby romaine then stopped.

I would give her the metacam. As long as she has food and water in her stomach, it's fine for them to take (for no more than 4 days in a row). It sounds like she might be in pain, you're right. In another thread we talked about bonded pairs fighting after vet visits, but this sounds like more than just that.

I just realized I obviously wasn't paying attention when I typed the heading. I meant "acting strange."

Can you first check if there is 0.5 mg percc ?
My bottle is l.5 mg per cc

Randy suggests 0.2 mg/ kg for a first loading dose and 0.1 mg/kg after that fora maintenance dose.
a 5 lb rabbit weighs approx 2. 25 kg.
need to know mg per cc in the bottle before we can figure it out

Thanks for everyone's help. I only needed to give Shades one dose of the Metacam, she seems to be back on her regular routine again. She's not as aggressive toward her sister anymore and her eating habits and output are normal.

You can marked this resolved!:D
