So I had him to the vet, they said he's fine, hewas uber skinny, so I fed him a lot. Now he's feeling fat and sassy. And he's slept in my room (my bed more like) every night since then)Which is difficult because he lays sideways and takes up teh whole bed.Last night his head and chest claimed my pillow and I felt bad pushinghim away so I just rolled over and used Erron's shoulder. When I heardErron's alarm go off I wasl ike '' yes! Pillow time! get up!'' andErron got up and Seth ran to the door. " Erron! I have to SH**!!" Afterthat he slept ont he floor. But came back to cuddle ON TOP OF ME alittle later.

Here's a pic of me tucking him in one night...oen of the rare nights he didn't ambush me in bed.

Aww, that picture is so adorable!

I'll bet he never wanders off again.

Are you going to micro-chip him? I'm getting my dog donesoon, maybe today. He's at the vet's for a bath andpedicure. He STINKS and I didn't want to deal with bathinghim myself.I'd rather letthem be the badguys.

Good plan. I bathe Seth myself in Summer, because when he's done I can jsut let him run around outside likeamoron until he's dry or muddy again. But its too cold for that now andIc an't let him run around the basement soaking wet and blow dryingjust takes forever. So I bring him to Petsmart. Though I think Petco ischeaper right now. Petco is usually more expensive everything. My vetwanted $45 to groom him because he has a thick undercoat. St00pid vet.

Yeah, Idon't think he'll be running off again any time soon.

He actually slept like that with his headon the pillow under the blanket all night.

I do want to get him microchipped. Its like $40 though so I may havetosave up a bit for it. I also want him tattooed. I could do it myselfbut ...it would break my heart. My vet does at at the time of spay andneuter so when Seth gets his balls removed I'd like him Tat'd. WhenSeth was missing, Erron read ont he internet about people who stealdogs...a lot of them sell dogs to research labs for money...but thelabs aren't allowed to take them if they are tattooed.

Which is a good thing for any dog owner to know.

Wow, I didn't know they tattooeddoggies. Where do they do it? In the ear?Casey's skin is mostly black (aside from his ears), so I don't know ifit would work with him.

I'd be worried about someone trying to "remove" the tattoo if they had bad intentions, ya know?

Cool. So are you gonna get him like an American Eagle with his name on it or something? Hee hee

Maybe something like this:

What were you thinking? That bulldog has no sense of style. ..

Yes they tat int he ear, like bunnies. I'm sure they are prepared fordark-skinned pooches, I kow they make yellow and bright green ink forbunnies, I havea lovely shade of red i use sometimes, also.

If you sent your dog out wearing a helmet, you wouldn't haveto worry as much about people with ''cruel intentions''

Have you tried the "do it yourself" bath at Petco? Ourscharges $9, provides all the stuff you need and cleans up themess! Soooooo worth it!

They have the raised bathtubs with little ramps for the dogs to walkup, so you don't have to bend over. They have a leash tie-upand sprayer. I love it.

ooh, I do remebmer seeing those or a diddy forit or something. I think I would still haveto bring a change ofclothes. I'll look into it...does it provide a blow dryer? Becausethat's the big deal. Otherwise I'd just do it at hoem for free.

And those boots make me cringer. A man in purple? I would question that.

Yes, they gave us a dryer. It was one of those big commercial ones, but they have hand dryers, too.

Don't you think thespiked collar and skull & crossbones belt buckle offset the boots?

How about a canine GPS collar??

I like the idea of a chip (our pup has one) and/or a tatto, but someone has to have the dog and want to return them.
It works great in the event that they get picked up and brought into a shelter or something.

If they're out and wandering around you can track them down with the GPS.

You can find some on ebay that are fairly reasonable. They're listed under "tracking collars".

Did you happen to see Firewall with Harrison Ford? They had a dog that kept running away so they had a GPS collar on him.

While Seth was gone I kept saying they shouldmake aGPS microchip. A colalr could slide off or by taken off andpitched by a thief. MY frend who works at the humane society told methey make GPS collars. I'll have to look into one.

There are gps collars, but no good ones that don't die after a very short amount of time or just fall apart.

As for the microchip, have you checked with the shelter? Wedo them for $25 to the public, cheaper than a vet. It's evencheaper in the cost of the adopted dog. It might be a cheaperroute for you.

Ooh, good plan

Does anyone else have The Final Countdown stuck in their head? I'vebeen whistling it for like 4 days now. I sang it to our chicken today. He liked it.

Our pets were all tattooed in the ear whenspayed/neutered, yes INCLUDING our bunny!! It was so weird when theydid it to him because the thing they use for tattooing left littleimpressions on the outside of his ear (not sure if it's done like ahuman tattoo...as with ours its a regular circle of dots), so it wasall bumpy for awhile!!

It was probably done with a clamp-style tattoo. Its set up like a pair of pliers....you slide little letters andnumbers into it...each one made up of a bunch of little pins. You clampit over the ear, which leaves tiny little holes in the skin. They thenrub ink into it, making it permanent. Lots of bunnies end up with thesebumps and the ink dots are sometiems visible from the other side.

I usedto use a clamp style tattoo but now I just use a Rabbitatt. Itlooks like an electric toothbrush, and has a tiny battery-poweredneedle at the end, which is the same needle they use on peoples fortattooing. And you turn it on and dip it in ink and just...write.Everything is so much more legible and its less stress on the bunny.I've had some lie down and doze while I tat'd them.
