The first snow is expected here on Sunday and Monday. I just knew it would be before Halloween. Greg laid in 800 pounds of salt which will not last all winter.

Patti, this may be the winter I invite myself to Florida.

Wow snow all ready! It has only just started snowing in the mountains over here!

Wish you safety during this snow season.

We got our first snow on October 1st! It melted, but it snowed again a couple days later and is now here to stay. I won't see the ground again until sometime in May :( The other day a lady from Australia was saying that she'd never experienced such cold temperatures, and it's only been around freezing or a few degrees below so far. I wonder how she'll handle it when the temp drops 70 more degrees...

What's snow?

Seriously - we got about an inch of snow (or less) a year or so ago and they shut down all the roads down here (the base closed down) and they asked folks to stay home.

We were laughing....an inch of snow??? We used to drive in Alaska during snow storms.....and Art grew up in Northern Maine.

Congrats on your upcoming first snow - I sure do miss it..

You have to share the guestroom with Snowball.

It's cold here today - low 70's. Brrrrr!

oOoOoOoOo....and we're partying because it's going to be in the low 70s/upper 60s next week:whistling

i wish we had snow......oh well, i guess i'll live:tongue

Only?!!! Geez, correct me if I'm wrong but it never makes it much lower than that each year here!

I do love winter, but over here it just always seems to be cold and rainy, not cold and icy. Icy is at least more wintry-feeling, but rain is just boring. All you get is wet feet and hair! :p And when/IF it does ever snow here we get yellowy mush that melts within hours and looks filthy from all the pollution etc lol.....

Can anyone tell me what the climate in San Francisco is likely to be this time of year? I'm having real trouble finding out, and we fly on 3rd November!:shock:

Also on www.weather.com and weather.yahoo.com and search for San Francisco.
It's going to be nice.... mid- to low-seventies first part of the week, then sixties... 65 on Nov 2nd.
Our rainy season hasn't started yet, so it's pretty nice. Not sure how long it will last still though. Maybe a week or so still.

It was supposed to snow here last week but didn't, now "snow showers" are forecasted for Tuesday.
It's colder in early fall here than it ever was in LA in the winter.
I feel like a wuss for ever being cold before.

Since I'min Northern California, we've barely even had rain! :(Usually the area I live in gets some snow. It's nothing compared to other places but we make a big deal out of it anyway, hehe. Though I did hear we are supposed to have a nice winter and rain is in the forecast for tonight (I believe).

At 4 a.m. this morning, my hubby shook me awake! Come in here, I want you to see something outside.......... I got to the door where it was freezing cold and windy....... he said "I think it's snowing!"..........

In my "not-a-morning-person-and-surely-not-a-freaking-middle-of-the-night-morning- person-voice" I said "yeah, those little white things are snow flurries. They happen every year in October or November in Indiana...... " and I went back to bed. :X
