Well, I've talked about both of my bunnies a lot, but I don't think I've ever really talked about my other little guy, Señor Squishy.

Squishy is a little Russian Dwarf Hamster that I have had since birth. His parents were my "breeder" pair, and I kept him and his sister, Stubby. Unfortunately, something was wrong with this breeder pair, and they kept producing "odd" babies. Scooter was missing a leg (her mum chewed it off). Squishy's face is lop-sided. Oddly, though, Squishy is still kicking and is coming up on 3 years old this fall!

Anyway, I had him out running around on my window sill (on a towel & supervised), and I realized that he might not be around much longer. He is very shaky and feeble, and his lovely dark-grey - almost black - fur patches are almost white. He is a Methusalah hamster, for sure!

Here are some pictures of my little Squishy McSquisherton for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

More cleaning (even though he's old and shaky, he can still groom like the wind!):

Aww what a little cutie!.....hamster's and gerbil's are illegal here in Australiaso i will never get to see one in real life....i just get to admire people's picture's of them.

He has such gorgeous colouring

:bowlord mcsquisherton. truly a methusalah of the hammy world. have had these wonderful pets myself and all of them lived longer than the " 2" years that i was led to expect. it's rather nice to be able to brag about the age of your hammy i think:D

Thanks, everyone!

I was kind of creeped out by his face at first, but now I find it just too cute. He has lop-sided personality! ;) I don't know his *exact* age, but I've lived at my apartment for two years (approx), and he was around before that, and I kind of remember him being around the summer before I moved. I've had one hamster that I can remember who made it to three years old. She was my first hamster! I've had at least 100 more since then (I bred them for five years).

I love my little Squishy McSquisherton! :D

Aw, what an adorable old man ham! I have one as well, except he's a Syrian named Cozy. His coat is thinning and he's shaky from old age as well but he's still going pretty strong.

He is such a cutie, and Petunia says hi! I love dwarf hammies because they're so grumpy all the time--it's adorable. I hope Petunia lives to be like Senor Squishy!

Awww I wuv his widdle face! Sorry, I get all mushy around hamsters. I've had 5 Dwarf hamsters, they're great. I'm sorely tempted to get another (or two!) every time we go to the pet store. One of our girls turned white as she aged too, she was very bitey in her youth but calmed down a lot as an old lady. She was super tiny and kind of crazy and ran on her wheel for hours every day up until the night she died.

Rock on, Senor Squishy!

Hehe! You wouldn't know that he is as old as he really is! He runs in the wheel all night! I've caught Will trying to take his wheel away at night, but I yelled at him to put it back. :p I swear, Squishy gets more use of his wheel than my Roborovskii pair (Scooter & Miss Peepers) did. He really does rock on! :p

ETA: I should probably add that his one eye isn't normally closed. I think he has a little cold and that his eye is "gooied" shut. I cleaned it with a Q-tip soaked in warm water, so it opened a little. It might be that he's just getting older and more crotchety!

He's so cute! :D

I fostered a Russian hamster once... I wore leather gloves while holding him. He BIT! He did get adopted though! So I was happy. :D

I should take some pictures of my gerbils ones of these days...

He's a cutie.

Benn had a hamster for 3+ years - Buffy. She was a character - loved to roll herself up in a wad of tissue and she would stuff her cheeks with hamster food.
