A little background info: I had a 450/mo. minute plan. Until I started working from home a year ago, this was more than enough. When I started working from home, I was using my cell phone a lot more (about twice my minutes), but I had over 4,000 rollover minutes and didn't want to upgrade my plan until I used them up. Well, on 3/16 the day came. I had previously checked into switching plans and the website specifically says that rate plan changes are immediate. To me immediate means right now. When I checked my rollover minutes on 3/16 I had 113 minutes left and that day I knew I had a long tele-conference, so I changed my rate plan to unlimited. Keep in mind that I was under the impression that this change was immediate.
Today I received my bill. It turns out that immediate means the next day. I got billed for 152 overtime minutes for a total charge of $68.40!! I called customer service and explained the situation. The customer service representative immediately reversed the charges - no having to get nasty or threaten to change providers or anything! Patti is a happy camper.
