If there is one smell that I cannot tolerate it is the smell of BO! Ack!

I was playing with Patches and he started running figure 8s around my legs and I caught a sniff of BO. Now hubby and I are building a deck and it,s pretty hot outside - he'd just walked by too, so I though -yuck! & sniffed myself (I didn't think so - hubby doesn't smell either) - so I checked the bunny. The head end smells fine - the tail end - that's where the smell is coming from.

Right now it smells a bit only - not overwhelming - could it get so bad that I may not be able to approach him without vomiting?

Is this normal? He's eating hay like crazy, drinking lotsand he's pooping fine too and he doesn't seem to have anything wrong with him - binkying and flopping all over. If he gets fixed will this be solved? Could it be his scent glands? Will cleaning them out solve the problem (and if yes, for how long?).

Cleaning the scent glands can help if they are the main problem right now. Use q-tips and some mineral or vegetable oil (warm water can also work). Just clean both glands and it should help. How long the smell stays down depends on the rabbit. Some never need them cleaned and don't have odour issues while others need them cleaned more often.
Neutering can help, but some of the odour issues with intact rabbits is from them spraying or if they get 'excited'.
