I arrived in San Diego yesterday at about 5:30, and it's already been super fun! I'm here with my dad and my sister. Today we're going to the San Diego Zoo and I'm so excited! One thing that kinda bummed me out is that it's pretty cloudy...

Welcome to Sunny California! Haha, that sunny part was a joke though. -California

Also, houses. Houses everywhere. They're like stacked on top of each other here, I am NOT used to it. When you look out the window from our hotel at that hill in the distance, you can't see any grass. Just trees and houses. It's really weird...

Anyone else been to San Diego? What all did you do? I'm having a lot of fun. :) We're going to Sea World and Disneyland later in the week too!

I live about 90 miles north of San Diego. We go to the zoo all the time, have annual passes. As for the sun don't worry it will come out and you came at the right time. For the last 2-3 weeks its been well into the 90's there and 100's for me. So I say enjoy :biggrin2: And ya house everywhere and no green you could drive north for several hours and it would all look the same all house no green not until you got way passed LA or out into the desert.

We lived in so cal for about 7 years. Having come from the east coast, I understand your impressions. And, yes, weather is unique. It usually is always cloudy in the morning and then the sun comes out later. Unlike the east coast, you cannot at all rely on the morning's weather to predict what the rest of the day will be like. In fact, we learned to stop listening to weather forecasts. -- let me guess, "cloudy in morning, sun to come out in afternoon, cooler in evening" -- that's about it all year round.:biggrin2:

Another adjustment is how cool the mornings and evenings can be. That's one thing east coasters tended to have a hard time adjusting to when they visited us there.

I loved CA weather. It just got too expensive to live there. Sounds like you're set to have a wonderful time! Lots of fun things to see and do.

Be sure to visit LaJolla Cove -- that's a must see in San Diego. (Scripps Aquarium is also in LaJolla)

I have lived in San Diego for 7 years. I loved it! Seaport Village is a good place to go. There is also the Wild Animal Park there in San Diego. San Diego is wonderful! It is mostly sunny there, cloudy sometimes. Enjoy the weather while you can.

We lived in San Diego for 2 years, and man do I hope we get to live there again someday because it is such a great city! I was gonna say you have to go to La Jolla! (Sprinkles Cupcakes are the best cupcakes on any coast if you ask me!) If you can get to Balboa Park on a nice day it's gorgeous there too.

Oh! And you've GOT to make it to Coronado!

I'm already back in Kansas. But thanks! I liked San Diego, but I don't think I'll be going back. I just don't think California suits me well. I prefer mountains and green landscapes to houses and beaches. (Not that houses and beaches are a bad thing, my mom is all about houses and beaches! It's just different tastes.)

I live super close to the zoo and Sea World. Did you go there? I am such a city beach girl, so mountains and greenery are so foreign to me! Once, I took Vegas to the beach. We were on our way back from a vet visit, so I let him play in the sand on his harness. It was so cute!

Yes, we went to the zoo and Sea World, they were both amazing. I'm glad to be back home though. Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day. ;)
