Hello all my name is Stephanny. I just brought home a sweet boy bunny (who I've yet to name) and decided to sign up for this forum. I've done plenty of research so I know the basic DOs and DON'Ts for caring for bunny.

Right now I'm letting him be as he is terrified and trying to think of a name for my sweet boy. :3

Pics it is!

Aw, pretty! His markings are unique..
What breed is he? Do you plan to litter box train him?
Have you thought about building a C&C cage yet? Those are the BEST bunny cages!!! so Iv herd!...thats why I built one

C&C? What does that mean?

Right now his cage is 4 times his size laying down (12 times if he's sitting up), twice his height if he stands on his hind legs.

I was told he was a dwarf but I think I'll have to wait and see! Haha. I will get pictures of the entire set up very soon.

C&C cages are made from those metal Panels used to make shelves, but what some people don't know is they make GREAT rabbit cages too!!!!

Here is a link to 2010 cages, there are some C&C cages shown there: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=54903&forum_id=93
Here is a link to 2009 cages: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=46713&forum_id=93

Here is a link to my C&C cage my husband and I just built: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=59282&forum_id=93
And with toys now: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=59455&forum_id=93

and this thread is about cages in general, there are some C&C cages posted in here, just gotta look for them: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_forum.php?id=93

Hope these help. Any other questions, just ask.

yeah, there are some pretty cool cage ideas on here!
Pet store cages really arnt the best unless used as a temporary, over night, or open free range cage.
Most people make there own cages which always seam to be a lot better :)

While that's true, my current cage is really big for my bunny. I'm also getting some of those "NIC" panels to make him a nice playpen in so he can get his exercise.
Someone told me about 2 hours a day but I'm not so sure on that.

Truthfully... Your cage may seam "big" but it really isnt. No pet store cage is really big enough. Even though your rabbit is small, the cage still is too small. I can tell in the pic. Rabbits need LOOOOTS of room. I am sure lots of people on the forum will agree with me too. I am not trying to be mean, just trying to help out with your cage deal.

And for the out of cage play time, a bunny needs a lot more time than just 2 hours a day. That's if its a caged bunny, if its a free roam bunny, then that's a different story.

I figured, there's sooo many hours in a day that 2 doesn't seem enough.

I'm not trying to argue but I don't know how well you're seeing the cage, it's like 8 times his size.
Still, I don't plan on keeping him there all of the time. I know I wouldn't want to be locked up all the time.

I really wanna copy that idea I mentioned earlier because it looks great for a trained rabbit and would give him a lot of space until someone gets home to play. :D

Well maybe, just wait for some others to come around from the forum, they can give there opinions on your cage. Remember, what I said is just MY opinion. Doesn't mean its right... nor does it mean its wrong.

But until then, you can try and think of some ideas of building a cage like the one you like :)

PetSmart and Petco are a black hole that takes all your money! Dont go there.. I just spent over $150 like 2 days ago because I went in there... :rollseyes

Hahahaha! I was thinking more on the lines of things I have around the house, like boxes and bags.

I gave a friend a rabbit about 5-6 years ago and she NEVER plays with store-bought toys. Only things like my friend's shoe, or his favorite star-wars toy. Hahaha!

Welcome to website. I hope you like it as much as everyone else. :)
Your bunny is also VERY cute! [:
