I'm housing a bunch of rescue animals, and right now I'm having outbreaks of URI's, and one with Wet Tail. I'm trying to disinfect the room, but there is no way I can move all these animals (nearly 35 of them) to another room. I need to mop the floor, and wipe down the walls, ect. to try to help kill germs. I *wish* I could use Clorox, as it is the best, but I don't think that is an option. For daily cleaning, I usually just mop the floor with one of this Swiffer Wet Pads (not the Wet Jet, just the wet pads you attach to the end of the floor sweeper thingy). It doesn't have disinfectants in it, however, at the time, I didn't have all these sick animals. I have a bird in here too, but he'll be moved to another room just because they are so sensitive to fumes.

Would a diluted clorox solution be okay to use around the animals, if I openthe windows and turn on the fans? I need something that is going to kill Wet Tail and URI germs. I know they are airborne, but some of the animals are up against the walls. They sneeze, it gets on the walls, ect. Plus I need to mop the floors so I don't track it into other rooms, like where Harper and Haley are located (on the other side of the house).

OH, one more very important question. Do Clorox wipes kill just as many germs as Clorox? I use it for wiping doorknobs and stuff in here, but I want to make sure it is working just as good as actual Clorox.

Thanks in advance!

Part of the reason for the outbreak of illness may be due to over crowding and poor ventilation, so it is important to address those issues also.

I use kennel disinfectants in my rabbitry. Bleach is a good disinfectant, but cannot come in contact with urine.

Overcrowdingis a huge problem, I know. We are moving into our new place in 3 to 4 weeks, and the animals are going to be split into two rooms, instead of one room like they are here. Less animals, less crowding.

A kennel disinfectant is a good idea, I never thought of that. Maybe some Nolvasan?

Nolvasonor Vanodineis good.

I like to use the products that also contain deodorizers as well as disinfectants.
