I bleach-cleaned her cage today and put her in acarrier while it dried. She thinks carrier means vet, so she gets alllimp and depressed.

During the several hours she was in the kennel, she didn't go to thebathroom at all. I don't think she drank anything either. She ate apiece of bread, but not enthusiastically. That's what she did last timetoo.

Her face was so incredibly sad. When she thinks something bad is going to happen, she doesn't fight--she gives up.

When I brought her back to the cage, she stood up and her eyes gotbigger and she put her nose to the wire, just waiting. It's like shecame back to life.

She was running around looking at everything and rearranging the strawin the box. So I think she's ok, but it scares me that little thingsmake her go downhill so fast. I worry about if I ever had to change herroutine or put her in a new cage--would she just give up on life?

just thinking "out loud", I guess....

Ohhhhh, Izzy is so precious. Shermanused to be that way. His eyes would fill with terror when Iwould put him in the carrier because to him carrier equated to vet.

I try to take him out on frequent car rides now to terminate thatassociation and he seems to be getting more at ease. He evenjumps into the carrier for no reason at all now sometimes when he'srunning around and waits for me to give him a yogurt dip.

Chernish uses his carrier as a play/dig box. Iput wood shewings there and the carrier is right next to his cage. Hehides in it, digs in it.

I do the same thing with our carrier, keep itright out for all the rabbits to play in. It's one of Chompers favoriteplace to chill out.
