I think we have at least one runt in a litter right now. Should just leave it up to Mom and nature? or should I be taking out the fat ones for a feeding to give the runt a better chance? or should I get mom and have her feed the runt individually? or should I look into kitten's milk (like KMR) and do hand feedings? This is her first litter. She is a new zealand/rex mix I think or something like that.

You can actually do any of those things. Hand feeding can be difficult because you don't want them to aspirate the milk you feed. You can try holding mom to give the baby extra feelings but that will all depend on how cooraporative she is.

Majority of people (including me) will just let nature take its course. If the baby is healthy and not lethargic then he can keep on. If you notice he doesn't wriggle or move as much as the others or that he doesn't look as full as the others then you can certainly try to supplement. We have done that before (I don't like seeing babies die so if I can intervene I will).
