I looked extensively online, and through many forums here, but all I get is pneumonia and snuffles but I'm not sure what could be wrong because the snuffle symptoms are varied everywhere, and I've not seen enough about pneumonia to be sure of any of it.

We don't have much money, so my mother refuses to bring him to the vet as she's convinced it's just a little bunny cold, but I'm very worried . . .

Max is nearing about a year old. He's a very happy and active bunny, and purrs every single time I pet him, so I know for a fact he's not feeling too terribly bad, having lived with bunnies my whole life . . . But this is the first time I've seen this, and it's a bit of a head scratcher.

He sneezes quite often, and it worries me, and sometimes he sneezes multiple times in a row. His eyes are perfectly clear, but his nose is very runny, and it runs very watery and it's perfectly clear, not one single tinge of any color to it. I would say it was water, or sweat, but he's been like this for quite a while now and it wouldn't explain the sneezes.

My mom says not to worry, but where I can't seem to find anything innocent on the internet explaining it without jumping to some really deadly bunny disease that comes with symptoms he doesn't have, it's really confusing and hard not to worry . . .

Rabbits don't just have bunny colds, like people have colds. When a rabbit has a runny nose it means there is some sort of health problem. If there is white discharge then that indicates a bacterial infection. It requires rabbit safe antibiotics, and even then it can be very hard to treat and may not clear up completely, but it still needs to be treated as the bacteria if left untreated, can get much worse and cause other problems.

If there is only clear discharge, it could still indicate an upper respiratory infection, but it might not be. Sometimes rabbits can be sensitive to a buildup of ammonia vapors from their urine, household chemicals if your rabbit is indoors, or too much dust from their hay or litter. Another possibility is an allergy, though this isn't as likely. Heat stress can also cause a rabbit to have a moist nose. Do any of these things sound like a possibility?

Well I highly doubt it could be anything heat related, as being where I am, it's probably the furthest thing from hot. We don't use many household cleaning items because I have breathing difficulties myself, and so those things aren't likely, but it could be the urine causing it. It got worse when we moved him inside where the urine builds up faster so I clean it twice a week. I would move him outside, but that would cause many other issues as the winds here are very strong, bitter and cold. It's also been snowing a lot, and there aren't many places outside that would keep it from getting in the hutch. Maybe I should clean it more often, perhaps every other day. We have also recently gotten more chipped wood as we were out, so perhaps the shavings may help it. We do have litter, but we use that for the hutch only, because when I tried using it for the indoor pin, all he did was throw it everywhere since he loves playing around in it.

So I'll see what I can do about the pee, and hopefully I'll get somewhere with that!

My rabbits nose has water under neath it. kinda above his mouth. It won't go away but it's not getting worse... he hasn't sneezed and acted off. Maybe a bit more sleepy but still really active and acting normal
