What exactly is thedifference between liquified cecals and liquified stools? That is, what does each one implyin terms of a bun's digestive health?
My nearly 3-year-old Mini Rex passed some liquid feces on her pen floor this morning. (She's had Cow-pile Syndrome symptoms for nearly her entire life.)
Her daily diet consists of: unlimited1st-cut timothy hay (which has some clover, and possibly other hay, mixed in), some Orchard grass,2 tsp. of Oxbow BB/T, and a tiny amount of greens (about a 2" piece of Romaine and 4-6 Italian parsley leaves).
She hasn't had loose stools in a while, which makes me suspect that it's the Romaine causing the current issue. (I just re-introduced it to her diet a week ago.)
My gut instinct is to remove the Romaine and continue feeding her everything else (maybe replacing the Romaine with cilantro). The vet wants me to switch her to Oxbow hay, since the company doesn't mix hay types. My goal is to do that as soon, though I don't think the hay is the cause (or the sole cause) of the current "butt leakage."
Thank you,
Jenk
