Romaine Lettuce Stump

Hi all,

Quick question: is the end of a romaine stalk okay for bunnies to chew? I'm talking about the knobby, hard stump on the opposite end of the leafy green bits. I wouldn't think there would be a whole lot of nutritional value, but I thought it might be fun to chew on. Thoughts?

I give stumps of everything. The kids chow them down just the same

I leave the roots on the corriander as well.

Picky Honey won't eat them. She doesn't much like the central spines, either, but DOES eat them.

Some of ours will eat anything they think is food and others are picky.

Awesome! Nibbles loved chewing on it. I just wasn't sure if there was anything unhealthy is what is usually considered the "inedible" part of the romaine!

My bunny loves the end of lettuce! I think it gives him a little something extra to chew on- more for chewing than for nutrition/taste i assume.

I give the stump to the bunnies all the time. Sometimes they eat it and sometimes they don't.

I don't think it will hurt people, we just choose not to eat it because it is more bitter.
