RIP, Randy Pausch...

Randy Pausch, the college professor known for his life lessons imparted in what he calledThe Last Lecture, has passed away this morning from pancreatic cancer. Anyonewho's heard Randy's powerful words of adviceknows that he was on this earth for a definite reason.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May they heal and strengthen in time. Randy, wherever you may be, I thank you for all of your advice, which I am applying in/to my own life. And please don'tneglect to visit with those who've crossed theRainbow Bridge.

I learned of Randy's passing from Good Morning America. They interrupted their broadcast to relay the sad news. Now the articles are cropping up (on CNN, Yahoo, etc.). Here's one of them:

I saw him on Oprah last year; he was amazing. I have his book but haven't read it yet.

My heart goes out to his family - Iknow how much they are hurting, and can only imaginehow proud they must be of him too.
His message reached so many people; and it will continue.

I've learned that the author who penned Randy P.'s story is a journalist who used to write a daily column ("All that Zazz") forThe Chicago Sun-Times, which I used to read faithfully. What a small world....

That's so true about Randy's message: It will continue. And that's it's true beauty, it's gift to the world.
